The Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Small Industries envisages provision of guarantees, to the extent of 75% in respect of loans given to SSIs without collateral security and/or third party guarantee up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakh, by banks (and other lending institutions) which have registered with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI) as Member Lending Institutions (MLIs). The Scheme is being operated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI), set up by the Government of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

As on 31 st January 2006, 840 proposals for Rs. 20.07 crore were approved under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for the North Eastern States (including Sikkim).

7.1.3 Setting up of Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Guwahati.

During the month the Tool Room & Training Centre, Guwahati has admitted 3 students each in Auto-CAD and Pro-E course.

organised one day Awareness cum Educational Workshop on Energy Conservation at Tinsukia, Assam alongwith SISI, Guwahati and All India Manufacturing Organisation on 10 th January 2006 in which 32 persons participated.

Entrepreneurship Development Programme in North Eastern Region

   -

During the month, 12 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 8 Motivational Campaigns and 5 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO offices in North Eastern Region and altogether 975 persons took part in these programmes.

Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneswar has manufactured a die punch and stripper plate for a Kolkata based SSI Unit which are to be used as an import substitute of press tool.

Indo-Danish Tool Room, Jamshedpur, has started a six month special training programme for women on Metrology from 2.1.2006 in which 10 graduate students have been admitted.

Central Tool Room, Ludhiana has conducted 9 short-term training courses in CNC Milling, Auto CAD, Advanced CAD/CAM/CNC Milling, Pro-E software in which 53 persons were trained.

Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has started an International Training Programme on Mechatronics from 9 th January 2006 in which 9 foreign participants are undergoing training and conducted 15 short- term training programmes in CAD/CAM/CAE in which 195 persons were participated.

Indo-German Tool Room,

Ahmedabad has conducted training in Pro-E, Master CAD, Auto CAD in which 33 persons were trained.

Indore has conducted 8 short-term training courses in Metrology, CNC Machining, Auto CAD, Pneumatics and Hydraulics in which 158 trainees were trained.

Auranagabad has conducted two-weeks training programme on CNC Programming and Machining for 12 faculties of Polytechnics of Maharashtra sponsored by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education and also conducted 8 number of short-term courses in CNC Machining, Master CAM, Tool Design, Auto CAD etc., in which 87 trainees were trained.


Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar conducted 7 specialised short-term programmes for 113 persons and undertook 7 job works for 7 small-scale units.

Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instrument (IDEMI), Mumbai organised 10 training programmes for 58 persons and undertook 152 job works for 71 small scale units.

During the month under ISO 9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, 203 new cases amounting to Rs. 0.97 crore have been processed for the next meeting of the Screening Committee for approval.

During the month, 7 ISO 9000/14001 Awareness/Motivational cum Education programmes were conducted by SIDO field institutions.

During the month, 50 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 60 Motivational Campaigns and 50 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different states and altogether 8800 persons took part in the programmes.

Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannuaj has organised an Awareness Programme on Cultivation of Menthol Mint at Ujjarpur Distt. Gorakhpur on 21 st January 2006 in which 10 persons participated.

    
 
  EVENTS

SIDO participated in the Winter International Fancy Food and Confection Show, San Francisco (USA) held on January 22-24, 2006 wherein products of 22 SSI units had been displayed and trade enquiries worth US dollar one million were generated during the exhibition.

   -

SSI-Market Development Committee in it's Eleventh meeting considered and approved Rs. 3.3 lakh as reimbursement to 23 SSI units for adoption of Bar Code from European Article Numbering (EAN), India.
