The Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Small Industries envisages provision of guarantees, to the extent of 75% in respect of loans given to SSIs without collateral security and/or third party guarantee up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakh, by banks (and other lending institutions) which have registered with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI) as Member Lending Institutions (MLIs). The Scheme is being operated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI), set up by the Government of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

As on 28 th February, 2006, 842 proposals for Rs. 20.18 crore were approved under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for the North Eastern States (including Sikkim).

Setting up of Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Guwahati.
During the month, the Tool Room & Training Centre, Guwahati has conducted 2 short term training programmes on Auto-CAD and Pro-E in which 3 persons were trained.

   -

Entrepreneurship Development Programme in North Eastern Region
During the month, 4 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 4 Motivational Campaigns and 2 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO offices in North Eastern Region and altogether 448 persons took part in these programmes.

  SIDO NEWS  

Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneswar has developed

(a) die and punch using CNC Wire Electric Discharge Machine to be used for aeronautical components for a SSI unit at Bhubaneswar and

(b) Teflon inserts for manufacture of vermicelli for a SSI unit at Berhampur.

Central Tool Room, Ludhiana has conducted 5 short-term training courses in Auto CAD, CNC Machining etc. in which 41 persons trained.

Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has conducted

15 short term training courses on Design & Manufacture of Tools, Metrology & Inspection, CAD/CAM/CAE in which 158 persons including 18 women were trained.

(a) 3 day training programme jointly with Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneswar on low cost automation in which 20 persons were trained.

Indo-German Tool Room,

(a) Ahmedabad has conducted 2 training programmes on Unigraphics, Turning & Milling in which 8 persons were trained.

(b) Auranagabad has conducted 9 short term in which 38 persons were trained.

(c) Indore has conducted 17 short term courses in CNC Technology, Auto CAD, Pro E, CATIA Inspection & Metrology and Pneumatics and Hydraulics in which 297 persons were trained.

Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar conducted 3 specialised short-term programmes for 06 persons and undertook 21 job works for 21 small-scale units.

Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instrument (IDEMI), Mumbai completed 9 training programmes for 72 persons and undertook 96 job works for 73 small scale units.

During the month, under ISO 9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, 2 cases pertaining to NE region for total amount of Rs 99,000 has been reimbursed.

During the month, 13 nos. of ISO 9000/14001 Awareness/Motivational cum Educational programmes were conducted by SIDO field institutions.

During the month, 55 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 80 Motivational Campaigns and 45 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different states and altogether 10,350 persons took part in the programme

Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannuaj has organised

a training programme on Fragrance & Flavour and its application from 14-18 February, 2006 in which 02 persons were participated.

a training programme on Cultivation & Primary distillation of Aromatic Crops with the sponsorship of International Congress of Essential Oils, Fragrance & Flavour on 20 th February, 2006 in which 10 persons were participated

The 25 th Meeting of the Advisory Committee on reservation constituted under Industries (Development & Regulation) Act, 1951 was held on 25.2.2006, under the chairmanship of Secretary (SSI &ARI). The Committee recommended for the de reservation of 180 items from the list of items reserved for exclusive manufacture in the small scale sector which was approved by the Hon'ble Minister (SSI&ARI). Subsequently, in the Union Budget for the year 2006-07, an announcement has been made for the de-reservation of 180 items

SIDO participated in ret-A-Porter Fair at Paris (France) during 2-5 February 2006 through ITPO and Products/Samples of 20 SSI units were displayed.

SIDO participated in MUBA-2006 at Basel (Switzerland) during 16-27 February 2006 through ITPO and samples from 18 SSI units were displayed. (Picture – 2 nos. sent separately)
