SENET bags the Golden Icon award for the "Best documented resource and case study" in the Professional category. The Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme for Small Industries envisages provision of guarantees, to the extent of 75% in respect of loans given to SSIs without collateral security and/or third party guarantee up to a maximum of Rs. 25 lakh, by banks (and other lending institutions) which have registered with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI) as Member Lending Institutions (MLIs). The Scheme is being operated by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Small Industries (CGTSI), set up by the Government of India and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

As on 31st March, 2006, 890 proposals for Rs. 21.65 crore were approved under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for the North Eastern States (including Sikkim).

Setting up of Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC) at Guwahati.
During the month, the Tool Room & Training Centre, Guwahati has imparted training on Auto-CAD, Pro-E Course and CNC Technology to 18 persons.

   - 2 Small Scale Industries of Gauwahti has selected 19 trainees from Indo German Tool, Gauwahti for placement in their unit.

Entrepreneurship Development Programme in North Eastern Region
During the month, 15 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 13 Motivational Campaigns and 4 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO offices in North Eastern Region and altogether 1100 persons took part in these programmes.

  SIDO NEWS  

Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneswar has conducted

(a)one day workshop on energy Conservation for SSI units in which 14 persons were trained and

(b) three days training programme on Industrial Automation in which 17 persons were participated.

Central Tool Room, Ludhiana has conducted short-term training courses in CNC turning, CNC Milling, Advanced Auto CAD and CNC Wire Cut in which 26 persons were trained.

Indo German Tool Room,

(a) Indore has conducted 12 short term training courses in the area of Inspection & Metrology, CNC Turning & Milling, Auto CAD, Manufacturing Technology etc. in which 82 persons were trained.

(b) Ahmedabad has conducted training programmes in the areas of Unigraphics, CAD/CAM in which 32 persons were trained.

Central Institute of Tool Design, Hyderabad has conducted

(a) 15 short terms courses in CAD/CAM/CAE in which 83 persons were trained.

(b) a programme on Sheet Metal & Die Casting Process from 17-18 March 2006 in which 19 persons were trained

Electronics Service and Training Centre (ESTC), Ramnagar completed 23 specialised short-term programmes for 149 persons and undertook 15 job works for 15 small-scale units.

Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instrument (IDEMI), Mumbai completed 11 training programmes for 168 persons and undertook 90 job works for 81 small scale units.

During the month, under ISO 9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, an amount of Rs. 6.10 crore have been approved by the Screening Committee in its meeting held on 14.3.2006 for 1322 SSI units including one unit of NE region amounting to Rs. 48,750.

During the month, 3 nos. of ISO 9000/14001 Awareness/Motivational cum Educational programmes were conducted by SIDO field institutions.

During the month, 145 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, 238 Motivational Campaigns and 100 Management Development Programmes were conducted by the SIDO field institutions in different states and altogether 25,200 persons took part in the programme

Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre, Kannuaj has organised

(a) a training programme on “Basic of Fragrance & Flavour Creation” from 31st March to 5th April, 2006 for women entrepreneurs.

(b) workshops on “ Attar and Natural Products” on 28th and 29th March 2006 at FFDC Kannuaj and Kanpur respectively in which altogether 350 persons were participated.

SIDO participated

(i) in Expocomer International Fair, Panama City, Panama during 8-12 March 2006 through ITPO and products/samples of 18 SSI units were displayed.

Bar Code Certification

For adoption of Bar Code Certification from GSI (formerly EAN India), Rs. 3.7 lakh were disbursed to 26 SSI units as 75 per cent reimbursement of the Certification fee.
 
   - Enhancement of investment limit in plant and machinery from Rs.1 crore to Rs.5 crore in respect of :

(i) 69 items reserved for exclusive manufacture by small scale industries (SSI) sector and all items in the drugs and pharmaceutical sector was notified vide S.O 229(E) dated 21.2.2006.
